Yes, I was in Iceland in July too, been there many times. Another place on this blue marble I feel completely and utterly at home. It holds a special energy, I’m never quite the same who leaves as the one that arrives…

Gorgeous shot. Love how the silhouette is reflected so strongly in the water too. Love your poem too – nature is always so much bigger and extravagant than us. When I look at views like that in real life, sometimes I feel small 🙂

Silhouettes and reflections the dream of this photographer and it was like driving through a dream this particularly night… many times the scenery too stunning for me to even take a picture, all I could do was looking at it in silence… but this one, I’m really happy with. It brings me back to that night.

It is good to hear that you allow yourself to enjoy the moment and what’s around you. Nothing beats seeing something with your own eyes. Looking at it through a camera lens, it’s always different in that it looks so much smaller 🙂

You are very right, however, when I ‘sense’ a photo, my camera becomes and extension of my eyes in some bizarre way and even add to the feel of the moment.
Having said that, I find nothing more weird and removing oneself from what is going on, when people go to a concert and watch it through their iphones!! Imagine the artist, not seeing people faces anymore, only their stupid phones, the magic of a show is lost with this. Sorry, that was a stray thought 🙂

Hahaha! I get what you mean. People just love filming their favourite singers and bands on stage. I am sure they want to capture the moment…and don’t want to miss out on anything 🙂

This is a beautiful picture. during our trip in Iceland this summer, it was raining so much the day we were near Kirkjufell that we couldn’t even stop and take a picture. I’m glad I can contemplate yours ! 🙂

Iceland is a stunning place.
I was very lucky on my trip, the sun was out everyday where I went, and only a few drops of rain, whereas I have a very good friend who was there at the same time and got a text from her saying, “if the sun shines where you are, I’ll start screaming now” lol!! Apparently she had same experience as you 🙂

Yeah, it’s incredible, we met a french family at the end of our trip and they started their trip 2 days before us and they had sun the whole time. We had some sun, but we also had our share of cloudy and rainy days 🙂
