There is so much water coming down from the skies in Ireland that I didn’t consider it important leaving out water for the birds and I rarely saw them at this rain filled pot before either. This thought was confirmed by seeing them drinking from the rain forming droplets hanging on leaves and branches. However, this day, as the water was frozen in the nearby surroundings, so many birds came and went. And I kept breaking the ice that formed quickly, for them to drink. I even had to fill it often too, so they could reach it, perching on the edge of the pot. Only the always bold robin stood in the water, as they do, on the ice left at the edges. So much to observe and learn. Such a blessing to be able to.
