Birdsong, Birdman

It’s been a creative winter….

What a beautiful thing to be part of; my photography is in incredibly good company in Luka Bloom’s new album and video for his song Birdsong, Birdman.

The robin in this video was my friend. I called him The Winged One.

He curiously and full of trust thought I was an interesting thing to check out and hang on my jacket and pull at my hair while he was still a brown speckled juvenile. As he grew into his stunning red chest, he would continue to follow me. He ate from my hand. He would find me no matter where I was in the garden. He even accompanied me part of the way up the Burren mountains and would be there on the same spot where he decided to fly no further, as I returned. He brought such profound and simple joy and presence to life, by his mere being in this world.

I am deeply moved to know that his joy and lively and trusting spirit lives on in these photographs and now in this beautiful song by Luka Bloom and video created by Myriam Riand.

Thank you for bringing my photography artwork on board!
