Swallow In Flight

I watched them get bolder and stronger, until the day it was time to start the long journey South. It’s always with a little pang in the heart, when they leave and with them their joyful ways, knowing all the dangers and challenges they will meet. I wish them well and despite my love for autumn and winter, I can’t wait to hear their excited little chirps when they return again next year. As long as the swallows returns, something is still right in the world.

Fly Well Little One

The small things, becomes the big things… fly well little one.

Birdsong, Birdman

What a beautiful thing to be part of; my photography is in incredibly good company in Luka Bloom’s new album and video to his song Birdsong, Birdman.

Patterns

I am not sure why this particular image spoke to me today. In black and white and in colours. But loudly it spoke and share I must. Such is the way with art. It has a mission wider than me and I don’t always get to understand the information. Until later. Or not at all.

“That’s How The Light Gets In”

“There is a crack, a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in.”
Leonard Cohen

I Stand

I Stand

I stand
My face towards the sun
A smile emerging
I step
I am
I stand
Anew

The Presence of a Cat

Early frosty mornings, coffee made, fire lit, and I’m watching Her Ladyship watching the fire.

Letting Go

There is simplicity to be revealed in letting go. There is breath. There is listening. There is allowing. There is the currents of life carrying you to what is not yet known. There is a met in the simplicity of being. There is rest. There is trembling. There is fear. There is grief. There is darkness. There is light.

And there is free.

Feelings For Horses #3 – ‘Serenity’

The sun was hanging low over the Burren mountains, when this beautiful mare decided I was someone worth investigating. She slowly moved up towards me, taking her time, as nature does, nibbling on grass along the way, until she was so close I could scratch her neck and stroke her

'Seeing Deeper Than The Eye'

Feelings For Horses #2

The one that left a little beautiful piece of himself in my heart that day was this bay boy with the calmest soul-reaching eyes. Time evaporated standing with him, feeling his gentle breath on my cheek, soaking up the most wonderful scent of being at home in the world, and feeling him choosing to stay with me, quietly being, quietly seeing, quietly knowing.

Feelings For Horses #1

Most here will know my love for the natural world and animals. From where the inspiration for my photography art springs. But you might not know the depth of my feelings for, in particularly, horses. My best friend was a horse in my young teens. Rarely a day goes by

Whitethorn – The Burren

I love waking up, taking my time, with coffee and cat, creating the day, while watching the seasons of this beautiful whitethorn from my window. It’s in full blossom now.

Golden Hour – The Burren

Something soothing about the low and gentle sunset light reflected in the limestone in the Burren.
